Storage

Unopened it can be stored for 18 months in a cold, dry space protected from sunshine. The exact expiry date is displayed on the bottle.
After opening, it is recommended to use it within 3-4 months, so that its valuable vitamins, trace elements and minerals do not lose their high quality.
It is an unfiltered oil, so best to shake it up before consumption.

Positive effects of sunflower oil

Two spoonfuls of cold-pressed sunflower oil are sufficient to provide the daily requirement of vitamin E, which is an important free radical scavenger. In addition vitamin E protects cells from premature aging.

Vitamins A, B, D and K support the immune system. Sunflower oil is also said to have a detoxifying and purifying effect.

This popular vegetable oil consists 90 to 95 percent of mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Whereas the monounsaturated fatty acids reduce LDL cholesterol among other things, the polyunsaturated fatty acids have an effect on HDL cholesterol.

Uses for cold-pressed sunflower oil

Whoever wants to take the best advantage of the health-supporting effects of sunflower oil should heat it as little as possible. Because of this, it is a vegetable oil that can most often be found in cold dishes. Combined with a fruity vinegar it is the oil of the day for salads of any kind. No matter whether with lettuce salad, cabbage salad, lamb’s lettuce or chicory with sunflower oil you are always on the right track. This unobtrusively fresh oil is also ideally suited for enhancing soups or spreads.
