Uses for cold-pressed milk thistle oil
So as not to damage or destroy the particularly high content of unsaturated fatty acids, milk thistle oil should not be heated too high. To retain the valuable substances as far as possible it is recommended to use milk thistle oil for gentle simmering and braising. When it is dripped over raw or steamed vegetables or used for enhancing soups or salad dressings, milk thistle oil releases its full flavor which is slightly reminiscent of grass.
Its healing powers in the home were known to ancient peoples. Gently massaged into painful areas it develops its effect against bruising and other sport injuries as well as against some other chronic complaints.
