A rare oil from eastern Spain
Earth almond oil more commonly known nowadays as tiger nut oil is a dark golden oil from the tubers of a plant similar to grass called sedge. The earth almond plants for the cold-pressed oil from Pödör only grow in the East of Spain; to be more exact around Valencia.
At the moment it is still an insider tip amongst vegetable oils used, above all, in leading restaurants. The inimitable sweet taste would surely find full appreciation in your kitchen! By the way the sustances contained in this tiger nut oil such as oleic acid, fiber and vitamin A are good for your health.
Uses for cold-pressed tiger nut/earth almond oil
The aroma of earth almond oil cannot be compared to any other vegetable oil. It is sweet and mildly acerbic and is somewhat reminiscent of roasted walnuts. For this reason it is well-suited for enhancing desserts and other sweet dishes. Whoever likes smoothies can drip a little earth almond oil into them. With it, the vitamins from the fruits can be absorbed by the body more quickly. The sweet taste of earth almond oil creates exotic nuances in hearty dishes such as stews, soups, sauces and dips. Combined with fruity vinegars, tiger nut oil harmonizes particularly well with leafy green salads.
Positive effects of tiger nut/earth almond oil
Tiger nut oil contains a high percentage of oleic acid which has a very positive effect on high cholesterol values. It lowers harmful LDL cholesterol and raises valuable HDL cholesterol.
The fiber in this exotic vegetable oil ensures activity within the stomach and digestive system.
Vitamin E is an effective free radical scavenger that protects cells from harm. Earth almond oil contains a large amount of it. Apart from that, vitamin E when applied externally improves elasticity of the skin and reduces wrinkles.

Unopened it can be stored for 18 months in a cold, dry space protected from sunshine. The exact expiry date is displayed on the bottle.
After opening, it is recommended to use it within 3-4 months, so that its valuable vitamins, trace elements and minerals do not lose their high quality.
It is an unfiltered oil, so best to shake it up before consumption.
