Vitamins A, B, D and K support the immune system. Sunflower oil is also said to have a detoxifying and purifying effect.
This popular vegetable oil consists 90 to 95 percent of mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Whereas the monounsaturated fatty acids reduce LDL cholesterol among other things, the polyunsaturated fatty acids have an effect on HDL cholesterol.
Uses for cold-pressed sunflower oil
Whoever wants to take the best advantage of the health-supporting effects of sunflower oil should heat it as little as possible. Because of this, it is a vegetable oil that can most often be found in cold dishes. Combined with a fruity vinegar it is the oil of the day for salads of any kind. This unobtrusively fresh oil is also ideally suited for enhancing soups or spreads.
