It was in the early 1900-s that this winter salad was created in the Astoria kitchen of the famous Waldorf Hotel in New York. The Waldorf salad has four main constituents: celery, walnuts, sweet and sour apples and the mayonnaise sauce, which we will prepare from omega 3 mayonnaise.
Wash the vegetables and the fruits. Peel the celery bulb. Select both sweet and sour apples for the salad.
Grate the celery bulb and the apples, and cut the celery stalks into small cubes. In a bowl, mix it with a spoonful of apricot vinegar so that they do not turn brown.
Blend the omega 3 flax seed oil mayonnaise with the sour cream and mix it in with the greens. Let it rest in a fridge for a couple of hours, and it’s ready to serve.
